Qualifications

  • 2+ years of masonry or construction experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of masonry techniques, tools, and materials.

  • Ability to take direction and grow into a supervisory role.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read basic construction drawings (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Foreman with daily jobsite operations and crew supervision.
  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of masonry work (brick, block, stone).
  • Help assign tasks and monitor crew productivity and quality of work.
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure a safe jobsite environment.
  • Participate in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and other trades.
  • Lead small crews or tasks under supervision as part of training development.
  • Track progress, assist with reporting, and help resolve jobsite issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
  • Perform hands-on masonry work as needed.

Position Summary

The Foreman-in-Training is a developing leadership role designed to prepare high-potential employees for a Foreman position. This individual will work closely with experienced Foremen and Superintendents to gain hands-on experience in crew leadership, jobsite coordination, safety compliance, and project execution. The role combines skilled labor with leadership development and increased responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Foreman with daily jobsite operations and crew supervision

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus, if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience leading small crews or acting as a lead
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work performed on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
  • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and standing
  • Ability to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 75 lbs]
  • Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding conditions
