City of Akron is seeking a skilled Carpenter for the Akron Public Schools facilities. This position involves maintenance, construction, and repair across school buildings, ensuring safety and functionality for students and staff.

Proven carpentry skills and ability to read schematics are essential. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Ohio driver’s license, and ability to work independently and with others in a dynamic environment.

Formación

• Three years' paid carpentry experience in building maintenance.
• State of Ohio Driver's License.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams and blueprints.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and with others.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain all Akron Public Schools Buildings; repair, build from scratch, modify or retro-fit any project; provide a safe and functional environment for students and staff.
• Operate power tools and equipment properly and safely.
• Attend meetings and seminars as required.
• Interact with public in official capacity when required.
• Build and repair structures, flooring, ceilings, and wood fixtures.
• Prepare required reports for supervisor.
