Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (Ingalls Shipbuilding) in Pascagoula, MS, seeks a senior operations leader to drive accountability on the 2nd shift. You will supervise Craft employees, enforce safety and quality, and ensure work progresses on schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma with 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience.
  • Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, or military experience.
  • Internal candidates must have a Superior Attendance and Disciplinary Record with limited unexcused absences.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of units with direct supervision of Craft employees.
  • Provide direction using established policies to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Perform management duties including Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule.
  • Review Shipbuilding Management Charter SBMC 0001 and related policies before applying.

The Role

Leaders sought. Immediate need for leaders who can drive Accountability in a Professional, Civil environment. Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead with: Fairness, Consistency, Respectfulness and Transparency.

Responsible for daily operations of units with direct supervision to monitor Craft employees for day to day work flow and provides direction using established polices and procedures to ensure that projects are completed on schedule

Perform management duties, including Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule

Additional common management responsibilities as listed in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 within command media (SBMC 0001) and applicants should review the Charter and policies and procedures before applying for position.

Must Have

High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience

Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience

  • Internal candidates must have a Superior Attendance and Disciplinary Record.
    • Candidate cannot have more than 3 unexcused absences in the last 180 day period.
    • Candidate cannot have any safety DANS that result in a disciplinary layoff in last 180 day period.
    • Candidate cannot have more than 2 total DANS in the last 180 day period (excluding lost tool).
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned.
Nice to Have

Bachelors/Apprentice OR High School and 6 years related Trade experience

Experience as a workleaderman and/or performing Supervisor Re-Rate duties.

Some supervisory experienceAbility to read and interpret blueprints and theAbility to interact with all levels of personnel and management
