Job summary

Zemba Bros., Inc. is seeking an Excavation Foreman to maximize productivity and ensure safety in all commercial and residential projects. The Foreman will oversee on-site functions, including project safety, scheduling, and engineering, while ensuring compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.

Job description

The Excavation Foreman maximizes productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction by ensuring the safety, efficiency and quality in all commercial / residential projects. The Foreman ensures that all work conforms to Company policy, as well as all relevant OSHA regulations. Proficiency in all forms of excavation as well as the multitude of service offerings ensures expert oversight.

Essential Functions
  • Assist w/ planning, coordinating and supervising all on-site functions of service projects. This includes project safety, scheduling, engineering and material control.
  • May authorize and / or approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions and field design changes requests.
  • Provide technical assistance, recommending construction methods and equipment as required.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules etc.
  • Document any violations of project and safety requirements, notifying management immediately.
  • Interfacing with client representatives and other contractors as required.
  • Work together with management to communicate production goals and quality specifications of work, discuss issues that have surfaced and recommend ideas to help team achieve project goals.
Qualifications
Competencies or Experience Requirements
  • 3 -5 years construction supervisory experience.
  • Class A CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Skilled in planning, organizing and supervising.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Safety

Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

Travel

Travel to job sites is required as needed.
