Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Foreman/Foreperson to supervise a crew performing utility line clearance and tree trimming for major electric providers.

The role requires directing crew and equipment, planning tasks, and ensuring safe operation of tools from hand tools to aerial lifts. On-site work with opportunities for advancement and industry training are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Driver’s license required; commercial license preferred but not required.
• Pesticide license, if required by state law.
• Herbicide license a plus.
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.
• Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers.
• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal, and removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects.
• Directs crew members and equipment, and plans and executes the assigned work and tasks.
• Supervises and assists in the maintenance, preparation and operation of tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Operates as part of a crew with Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber.
• Performs all above mentioned functions.
