Job summary

ITG Communications is seeking a Construction Foreman to supervise field crews on fiber, utility and underground construction sites. You will lead on-site operations, ensure safety, quality, and timelines, and coordinate with subcontractors and inspectors.

Qualifications include 5+ years in construction or utility work, 3+ years in leadership, High school diploma, and Class A CDL preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring presence at job sites.

Purpose:

The Construction Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of field crews on construction job sites. This role ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. The Foreman serves as the primary on-site leader, providing direction to crews, supporting field operations, and maintaining project quality and timelines.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise field crews performing fiber, utility, or underground construction work
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and adjust workforce needs as required
  • Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards
  • Conduct on-site inspections and quality control checks
  • Report job progress, delays, and crew performance to the Project Manager
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors on site logistics
  • Maintain job site organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance
  • Complete daily logs, timekeeping, and material usage reports
  • Lead safety briefings, enforce PPE usage, and respond to field incidents
  • Train and mentor new or junior crew members in proper techniques and procedures

Key Measures / Key Performance Indicators:

  • Job site productivity and work completion rates
  • Compliance with safety protocols and incident reports
  • Crew attendance and time tracking accuracy
  • Quality assurance and rework reduction
  • Timely reporting and communication with leadership

5+ years of experience is required.

"Class A" CDL is preferred

  • Able to safely operate Aerial construction equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards when working in and around high voltage areas.
  • Deep knowledge of telecommunications construction standards and practices.
  • Must know strand, coax, fiber, pole framing, pole removal, transfers, power supply moves.
Requirements

Education:High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

  • 3+ years of construction or utility field experience; leadership experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience is required.
  • "Class A" CDL is preferred
  • Knowledge of fiber, telecom, or underground construction methods and safety standards
  • Strong communication and crew management skills

Exposure:

  • Internal: Works closely with field teams, project managers, and operations supervisors
  • External: May interface with inspectors, subcontractors, or property representatives
  • Full-time presence on job sites; exposed to construction conditions and weather
  • Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position:
  • Crew Leadership: Drives productivity, safety, and morale on the front line
  • Operational Awareness: Understands project expectations and adjusts field execution accordingly
  • Job Site Ownership: Takes responsibility for quality and efficiency on assigned work sites

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs
  • Comfortable working in outdoor and high-activity environments
  • Manual dexterity for tool handling and basic equipment operation
  • Visual and auditory acuity for monitoring crews and identifying hazards
