Job summary

Ragle Inc is seeking an experienced Foreman to oversee daily field operations on heavy civil projects in Texas. You will lead construction crews, coordinate manpower, equipment, and subcontractors while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to project specs.

The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership, strong communication skills, and a solid commitment to safety, quality, and production. Travel may be required for project locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years of construction experience in heavy civil, highway, bridge, utility, grading, or related environments.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.

Position Summary

Ragle Inc. is seeking an experienced Foreman to oversee daily field operations and lead construction crews on heavy civil projects. The Foreman is responsible for coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively manage crews, communicate across all levels of the organization, and maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Crew Management

• Coordinate, schedule, and supervise daily work activities of field personnel
• Assign work based on project requirements, material availability, and employee capabilities
• Foster a safe, productive, and respectful work environment
• Train and mentor employees on construction methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies
• Assist skilled personnel and provide hands-on support as needed
• Recommend personnel actions including hiring, promotions, transfers, and employee development opportunities

Project Execution

• Read, interpret, and apply blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project plans
• Plan daily operations to ensure work progresses according to schedule
• Coordinate activities with other trades, subcontractors, and project teams
• Estimate labor, equipment, and material requirements
• Locate, measure, and mark reference points and layout positions using appropriate tools and equipment
• Ensure all work is completed according to project specifications and company quality standards

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements
• Prepare, review, and implement Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
• Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Monitor jobsite activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and safe work practices
• Inspect equipment and tools to ensure safe operation and arrange repairs when necessary

Quality Control & Documentation

• Monitor production and inspect completed work for quality and specification compliance
• Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions as needed
• Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, equipment records, production tracking, and photographic documentation
• Communicate project progress, delays, challenges, and solutions to management
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and improve project performance

Equipment & Materials Management

• Order, requisition, and manage materials, tools, and equipment
• Monitor equipment usage and coordinate maintenance activities
• Ensure crews have the resources necessary to perform work efficiently

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 5 years of construction experience in heavy civil, highway, bridge, utility, grading, or related construction environments
• Previous foreman, leadman, or supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction drawings
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, equipment, and safety procedures
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
• Welding experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in physically demanding environments
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work extended hours as project needs require
