Job description

The Foreman leads a vegetation management crew and operates bucket trucks or other machines. The Foreman trains and develops trimmers and grounds crews, enforces safety and operational practices, maintains attendance and safety records, and coordinates with customers, property owners, the general public, and the General Foreman.

Competitive compensation includes a $2,500 sign‑on/stay bonus, a very competitive hourly rate of $25–$28, and referral bonuses available from day one.

What You Will Do
  • Lead vegetation management crews.
  • Ensure utility specifications are followed.
  • Coordinate with the General Foreman.
  • Pre‑inspect projects and develop recommended management plans, matching labor and equipment resources to work and cost estimates.
  • Maintain accurate project circuit maps noting project status, crew locations and estimated completion dates.
  • Inspect crews, start/stop times, and identification of project shop locations.
  • Audit time sheets for accuracy.
  • Assist with customer notifications and complaints.
  • Preview work assignments and conduct post‑work critiques for each crew.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of tools and supplies to support the assigned crews.
  • Coordinate activities with the General Foreperson to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
  • Work a minimum 40‑hour week and perform other duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
  • Field experience as a vegetation management crew member.
  • Ability to evaluate circuit conditions and hours required to complete clearances to utility specifications.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills with various levels of field and management personnel and ability to write reports.
  • Capacity to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods in hazardous environments.
  • Willingness to wear necessary PPE.
  • Safe driving of an approved company vehicle.
  • Ability to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
  • Resilience to weather extremes (rain, heat, sun, cold).
  • Ability to traverse various terrains.
  • Read, write and comprehend written and verbal job instructions.
  • Professional handling of confrontations.
  • Availability for long hours, overtime and emergencies (including holidays, weekends).
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment.
  • Transportation to and from the show‑up location.
  • Willingness to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
  • Ability to meet DOT medical certification requirements and obtain a valid DOT Medical Card within 2 weeks from start date.
  • Pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
  • Pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR).
  • Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to all weather conditions (rain, heat, sun, cold).
  • Extended standing periods.
  • Physical demands including twisting, lifting and hand‑to‑eye coordination.
  • Use of machines, tools and equipment such as chainsaws, hydraulic tools and hand tools.
  • Transportation to and from the show‑up location.
