Job summary

The Sage Plant in North Carolina seeks a Construction Foreman to lead daily field operations, direct crews and subcontractors, and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to established quality standards.

This full-time, salaried role requires travel to projects in other states for 1-3 month assignments, weekend work, and on-call Saturdays as needed. Read plans, coordinate labor and materials, and enforce safety and project requirements on site.

CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN

The Construction Foreman is responsible for leading daily field operations, directing crews and subcontractors, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to established quality standards.

POSITION TYPE

Full-Time | Salaried

North Carolina-Based | Multi-State Travel Required

COMPENSATION

Base Salary | $75,000-$90,000

Performance Bonuses | Based on production, quality, schedule + overall performance

Benefits | Available after 90 days

Travel Expenses | Company-paid for approved project assignments

SCHEDULE + TRAVEL

• Average workweek of approximately 50-55 hours.
• Fixed project start times; punctual and reliable attendance is required.
• Must report before crews are expected to begin work and be prepared to lead the day.
• On-call availability required on Saturdays.
• Expect to work approximately two weekends per month on average.
• Occasional Sunday or additional weekend work may be required.
• Must be able to travel to projects in other states for assignments lasting approximately 1-3 consecutive months.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and direct field crews and subcontractors.
• Assign daily work, priorities, production targets, and completion expectations.
• Ensure crews are prepared and working at the designated start time.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, workmanship, safety, and conduct.
• Review plans, specifications, schedules, work orders, and upcoming requirements.
• Coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, deliveries, and inspections.
• Maintain daily work plans and short-term project lookaheads.
• Track progress against schedule and production expectations.
• Identify delays, conflicts, or field issues early and implement corrective action.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
• Verify layout, dimensions, elevations, reinforcement, openings, penetrations, and other critical conditions.
• Inspect work throughout construction and require correction of incomplete or noncompliant work.
• Confirm work is properly inspected and documented before it is poured, covered, or concealed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
• Enforce safety requirements and stop unsafe work immediately.
• Protect materials, tools, equipment, and completed work.
• Coordinate subcontractor sequencing, access, inspections, and completion.
• Prevent unauthorized scope changes or unapproved field decisions.
• Maintain accurate daily field reports, photographs, and project documentation.
• Communicate schedule, quality, safety, cost, and field risks promptly to management.
• Resolve routine field issues independently and elevate significant matters when required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum five years of hands-on construction field experience.
• Minimum two years of experience leading construction crews or field operations.
• Proven ability to independently manage daily jobsite operations.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to read architectural and structural plans.
• Strong layout, measurement, and quantity-verification skills.
• Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and inspections.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel for extended project assignments.
• Ability to use mobile devices and field-management systems for communication and documentation.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Strong preference for experience with:

• Vertical concrete construction
• Reinforcing steel and rebar
• Structural concrete
• Shotcrete or micro-concrete
• Masonry
• Stucco
• Waterproofing
• Structural or insulated concrete panel systems
• High-end residential, multifamily, or commercial construction

SCIP experience is a significant advantage.
