Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Systems Engineer to support PMA-272 at NAS Patuxent River, Lexington Park, MD. The role focuses on systems engineering, requirements management, and international defense cooperation, with an active Secret clearance and extensive DoD exposure.

You will lead technical oversight, coordinate stakeholders across Navy and industry, and drive risk management for international teams while preparing technical correspondence and reports.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
• MS/MA in technical or scientific field required or BS with 4 years of relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of recent and relevant engineering experience, 3 of which relate to DoD systems.
• Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs required.
• Understanding of program management, acquisition processes, and international defense cooperation desirable.
• Ability to liaise with Navy, partners and industry to meet milestones and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Identify, formulate, design, and test engineering solutions; guide development of complex systems using systems engineering methods.
• Manage requirements and coordinate internal/external action items; communicate with stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain communication with project leaders, NAVAIRSYSCOM officials, and IPT members to ensure SE practices are followed.
• Lead the Risk Management process within the international team.
• Respond to engineering taskers as directed by the Program Office leadership.
• Prepare technical reports, letters, and memorandums.
• Serve as Systems Engineering representative and provide inputs for trip reports and meeting actions.

Job description

Synectic Solutions is currently recruiting for a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Systems Engineer to support the Advanced Tactical Aircraft Protection Systems Program Office (PMA-272) at NAS Patuxent River in Lexington Park, MD. PMA-272 manages the development, acquisition and sustainment of operational advances in aircraft survivability equipment.

Salary Range: $130k - $140k

Responsibilities

• Performs programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems; guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems; and employing systems engineering methods and tools in the development of advanced complex systems.
• Principal areas of responsibility include requirements management, coordination of internal and external action items, and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
• Establishes and maintains communication with project team leaders, NAVAIRSYSCOM officials, competency management and IPT team members to ensure Systems Engineering practices and processes are followed appropriately.
• Lead Risk Management process within the international team.
• Respond to engineering taskers as directed by the Program Office leadership.
• Prepares project correspondence such as technical reports, letters, and memorandums.
• Serves as PMA-251’s Systems Engineering representative and provides technical inputs and prepares appropriate correspondence and reports such as trip reports, meeting action items, etc.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
• Must have a Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience
• Must have at least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems.
• Prior involvement and experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs required
• Understanding of program management, acquisition processes, and international defense cooperation strongly desired.
• Demonstrated experience in the area of engineering expertise is required.
• Ability to liaise with stakeholders across U.S. Navy, partners, and industry to ensure program milestones and deliverables are met.
