Job summary

California ISO seeks a Forecast Model Analyst to advance forecasting models for load, wind, solar, and uncertainty. You will develop data-driven workflows using Python, SQL, and R, analyzing large weather and energy datasets to improve forecast accuracy and grid reliability.

Collaboration across teams will deploy new models in production and monitor performance. The role requires strong communication and independent work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Statistics, CS, Meteorology, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of forecasting experience (Load/Wind/Solar) using ML, ANN, SVM, or regression techniques.
• Experience with open-source projects demonstrating programming and ML abilities; knowledge of electricity market design helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develops forecasting tools and data processes for short-term load, wind, solar, and uncertainty forecasting.
• Builds and maintains probabilistic forecasting methods and uncertainty metrics.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to deploy forecasting models in production environments.
• Monitors forecast performance and communicates results to management.
