Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is hiring a Team Captain – Footwear & Apparel to coach teammates, drive sales, and help athletes find the right products for performance and style. You lead a dynamic retail team in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment that values service, knowledge, and collaboration.

In this leadership role, you’ll develop staff, run onboarding and reviews, and ensure policies and merchandising standards are consistently met while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by providing clear, accurate information about products and assortment.
• Contribute to development of 30-60-90 day plans with the SM and ASM, and align with budgets and goals.
• Build effective schedules and manage workload to maximize efficiency and payroll goals.
• Lead sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of direct reports in oversight areas.
• Enforce safety, loss prevention and SOPs; hold teammates accountable for policies.
