Job summary

R.H. Foster Energy seeks a Foodservice Innovation Manager to lead development, standardization, growth, and profitability of bakery and foodservice programs across multiple locations in Maine and beyond.

You will drive new product launches, evaluate performance, and partner with Operations, Sales, and Marketing to expand revenue while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and scale. Travel within locations is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in foodservice or bakery operations.

Do you have a passion for food innovation, operational excellence, and growing profitable foodservice programs? R.H. Foster Energy is seeking a Foodservice Innovation Manager to lead the development, standardization, growth, and profitability of our bakery and foodservice programs across multiple locations.

What You’ll Do:

As the Foodservice Innovation Manager, you will lead initiatives that strengthen our foodservice offerings while ensuring quality, consistency, profitability, and operational efficiency.

• Develop and launch new bakery and foodservice products that align with customer preferences and market trends.
• Evaluate product performance and continuously improve recipes, ingredients, packaging, and presentation standards.
• Research industry trends and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.

Operations & Process Improvement

• Assess production capabilities, labor utilization, equipment, workflow, and operational processes.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and training programs.
• Monitor foodservice performance metrics including sales, labor, waste, customer feedback, and profitability.
• Lead initiatives that improve operational efficiency, consistency, and execution across multiple locations.

Sales & Business Growth

• Develop strategies to increase foodservice and bakery sales.
• Build relationships with existing customers and pursue new business opportunities.
• Identify new revenue streams and growth opportunities within foodservice operations.
• Collaborate with Operations and Marketing to create successful promotional and merchandising programs.

Equipment, Facility Design & Planning

• Evaluate kitchen and bakery layouts, workflow, storage, and production processes.
• Recommend equipment upgrades, purchases, and technological improvements.
• Participate in remodels, expansions, and foodservice enhancement projects.
• Ensure facilities and equipment support quality, safety, efficiency, and future growth.

Vendor & Community Partnerships

• Build strong relationships with suppliers, equipment vendors, and service providers.
• Identify opportunities to improve product quality, efficiency, innovation, and cost management.
• Represent R.H. Foster professionally in the community and develop business partnerships that support growth.

What You Bring:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in foodservice, bakery operations, culinary management, food production, convenience retail, grocery, commissary operations, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success in product development, process improvement, operational excellence, and business growth.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Maine driver's license and ability to travel between company locations.
