Compass Group at Florida International University’s Chilis location in Miami seeks a food-service supervisor to coordinate activities of staff and deliver an enjoyable dining experience. Roles may be full-time or part-time with hours discussed during interview.

Responsibilities include supervising service, menu planning input, ensuring sanitation and safety, handling reports, and training staff to maintain efficiency and excellence in a dynamic campus environment.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service and supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service and one-on-one attention to detail.
• Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items, ensuring company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control.
• Help plan menus.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and supervise serving of meals.
• Respond to customer complaints in person at the time of the complaint and via email for electronic complaints.
• Train employees; assign and coordinate work duties to promote efficiency and excellence.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Use proper systems to complete required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory-cash reports, production records, payroll, and time-keeping.
• Handle cash properly in accordance with the Food Accounting Manual.
• Order food and supplies from approved sources.
• Direct and participate in overall sanitation and safety of the facility and staff in accordance with company standards and government regulations.
• Develop sanitation schedule and ensure staff follows it for cleaning kitchen and dining areas and washing utensils and equipment.
• Issue written and oral instructions.
• Help select and orient employees and oversee staff training in relevant areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
