Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Food Services Storeroom Clerk to receive, store, and distribute food, paper goods, and cleaning supplies for the Food Services department. You will help maintain accurate inventory records and support returns processing to ensure efficient operations.

This onsite role requires attention to safety, HACCP principles, and basic data entry skills. A High School diploma and at least 1 year of relevant experience are preferred; ServSafe certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receives, inspects, and stocks deliveries.
• Accurately picks, issues, and delivers products to internal departments.

• Performs data entry and maintains inventory records.
• Monitors expiration dates and rotation for food safety.
• Prepares items for return shipping with proper documentation.
• Supports audits and periodic inventory counts.
• Fill in to support other areas as needed.
• Role may support other operational areas to meet needs.

Summary

TheFood Services Storeroom Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing food, paper products, and cleaning supplies for the Food Services department. Maintains accurate inventory records, supports returns processing, and ensures compliance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Receives, inspects, and stocks incoming deliveries of food, paper goods, and cleaning supplies.
• Accurately picks, issues, and delivers products to internal departments as requested.
• Maintains organized and clean storage areas in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Performs data entry and maintains inventory records using department software systems.
• Monitors expiration dates, product temperatures, and rotation to support food safety compliance.
• Prepares items for return shipping and ensures proper documentation.
• Complies with JCAHO and HACCP standards and maintains ServSafe certification, if applicable.
• Supports periodic inventory counts and audits.
• Fill in to support other Support Services areas as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
• This role may support other operational areas as needed to meet departmental needs.

Other information

Technical Expertise

• Experience with inventory control or supply chain systems is preferred.
• Experience in food service or a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., HACCP) is a plus.

Education and Experience

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
