Job summary

Johnsburg Elementary School in Johnsburg School District 12 is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker for the district's Food Service Department. The role covers 172 school days with hours that vary and pays $15.00 per hour.

The position reports to the Food Service Manager and the Director. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, some education or experience in Food Service, and knowledge of food service equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Education and/or experience in Food Service considered a plus
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate considered a plus
• Knowledge of and ability to use Food Service machines, appliances, materials and tools
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Respect confidentiality
• Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in human relations

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks or responsibilities as directed by Food Service Manager or Food Service Director's guidelines
• Prepare food to assure that planned menus are followed
• Knowledge of food productions and sanitation etc.
• Lifting of large pots and cans of food for preparation and serving of school lunches
• Adhere to the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality
