School Nutrition Services Worker III is a part‑time, 5 hour per day position during the school year, on days students are in attendance.

The School Nutrition Services Worker III performs a variety of kitchen duties and provides support to school nutrition service activities in District 214. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel, and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.

Starting hourly rate: $20.27/hr

Job Summary

Under the direction of the food service manager, the worker must be able to:

• Assist in preparation of food items, utilizing quantity cookery techniques and approved, standardized recipes
• Follow safe and sanitary food handling procedures
• Portion foods attractively and accurately, and weigh and measure accurately
• Assist in cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facilities
• Serve all stations in the cafeteria serving area and snack bar
• Assist in preparation, service and clean up of special functions
• Perform duties in areas of cook, vending, and record keeping

Qualifications

• Capable of lifting a minimum of 40 pounds
• Able to stand for long periods of time, a minimum of 3 hours continuously
• Able to perform frequent bending, stooping, and reaching activities
• Able to work in a hot, cold, and/or damp environment and adapt to changing situations
• Able to operate food preparation equipment
• Completed the Food Service Sanitation course and received Sanitation Certification, or to take the course and receive certification within one school year.
