Job summary

ServiceSource is hiring a part-time Food Service Worker at Cherry Point to support daily dining operations and gain valuable food service experience in a team-oriented environment.

Set up food on cafeteria lines, serve customers, handle utensils, and maintain cleanliness across shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and pass a military background check, with strong communication and organizational skills.

• Notify supervisor of malfunctioning or hazardous equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Perform a wide variety of manual tasks in the kitchen or dining area of a dining facility, which involves light to moderate physical effort and is done according to established procedures. Must be available all three shifts, days, nights, weekends, and, holidays.Primary DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.Set up food on cafeteria lines and portion food for individual servings in accordance with instructions.Replace glassware, dishes, and silverware and refill condiment containers. Wipe and wash tables and countertops.Clean work area, utensils, and equipment; remove garbage; mop floors; clean walls and windows.Remove dirty dishes, glasses, and silverware from serving counters. Mix washing solutions and operate electric dish washing machine and/or wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots and pans, and kitchen utensils by hand.Prepare food by paring, cutting, dicing, chopping, washing and/or cleaning vegetables and fruits and/or opening cans and cartons.Additional ResponsibilitiesMaintain the following in a sanitary condition: equipment, work areas, utensils, and tables.Notify supervisor immediately of malfunctioning, inoperative, unsafe, or hazardous equipment cleaned or used.Perform other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.Must pass a military installation background check is required.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesGood verbal communication skills.Excellent customer service skills.Well-organized and self-directed.The ability, after training, to serve customers at an efficient pace while providing friendly customer service.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
