Job summary

ICL is seeking a Food Service Worker for on-site duties in Long Island City, NY. The role involves food preparation, dining area sanitation and service, dishwashing, and inventory handling. Shifts include mornings and afternoons, with a schedule spanning multiple days.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, serving meals, and adhering to dietary requirements. Eligible candidates must meet NYS health requirements for food handlers and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED, or equivalent training and experience.
• Certifications/Licenses: NYS Health Department requirements for food handlers.

Responsibilities

• Washes refrigerators and other equipment by hand or with pressure cleaning equipment.
• Cleans loading dock areas, garbage cans, storage areas, and general kitchen areas.
• Washes pots, pans and other utensils by hand and machine.
• Receives and stores deliveries in appropriate storage areas.
• Rotates the food that is in storage.
• Cleans fruits, vegetables and potatoes in preparation for cooking.
• Cooks grill-type foods such as hamburgers, eggs, etc.
• Serves food in proper portions to residents.
• Ensures those on special diets receive proper food and portions.
