Job summary

Air Mobility Command at McGuire AFB, New Jersey, seeks a Food Service Worker (MVO) to operate a vehicle and deliver meals across the base. You will take orders by phone, describe menu options, assemble orders for delivery, and ensure items are prepared and delivered hot or cold as required.

You will perform basic vehicle maintenance, assist in food preparation, clean work areas, handle payments, and maintain cash reports at shift end. Regular position, 20–40 hours per week.

Submits orders to cooks for preparation and assembles orders for transport; maintains vehicle; performs basic vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
Assists food service staff in preparing simple items for delivery; cleans and sanitizes work areas; handles serving and cash receipts.
Receives payment, gives change, and completes cash reports at end of shift; performs related duties as assigned.

Schedule: This is a Regular Position (can work 20-40 hrs per week).

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Food Truck at McGuire AFB, New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities

Operates a motor vehicle to transport and deliver food and beverages throughout Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Ensures products are delivered to customers according to quality standards established by management (i.e., freshly prepared foods delivered hot or cold, as appropriate, and in a timely manner). Accepts patrons' orders over the telephone. Describes menu items to customer, explaining various product combinations and options.

Submits order to cook for preparation of food items, assembles order for transport. Performs and documents vehicle operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels, air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing vehicles. Assists food service employees in the preparation of simple food items for delivery/carryout/restaurant. Cleans, cuts, chops and dices vegetables, salad or other food items. Removes soiled dishes, trays and utensils.

Cleans tables and counters, sweeps floors, empties and sanitizes waste cans. Receives payment for amount indicated on sales slips and gives correct change. Verifies cash on hand against total cash received and completes cash reports at end of shift. Performs other related duties as assigned.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
