Job summary

Texas Health Rockwall is seeking a Food Service Worker Lead for the Food and Nutrition Services team. This full-time, day shift role involves leading staff, ensuring food safety, customer service, and coordinating daily workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include training staff, monitoring temperatures, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting special events. Applicants should have a high school diploma and food handler certification; at least 2 years in food service are

• 2 years of relevant food service experience required.
• FHC Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Leads staff in daily activities, assigns work, and maintains workflow.
• Trains staff and coordinates required in-services.
• Maintains HACCP food safety and health department standards.
• Records refrigerator temperatures and takes action if temperatures are out of range.
• Supports cost control, efficiency, and customer satisfaction improvements.
• Performs duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager and assists with events.

Food Service Worker Lead – Food and Nutrition Services (Full-Time / Days)

Work hours: 40 hours weekly, Days, Including every other weekend.

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
• 2 years relevant experience in food service Required
• FHC - Food Handlers Certificate 30 Days Req

What You Will Do

• Written and oral communication skills. Must be able to operate computer software applications. Customer service skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment is required. Demonstrates thorough critical thinking and is a team player. Ability to count and handle cash.
• Leads staff in daily activities and works with them as needed, assigns and checks work and maintains workflow. In the absence of the Supervisor or Manager leads team in designated areas.
• Assists with training of staff including the coordination of required in-services.
• Maintains food safety requirements according to HACCP and health department standards in the performance of all duties. Records refrigerator temperatures in areas of responsibility and takes appropriate action if there are inadequate temperatures. Maintains a clean and orderly work area, ensuring compliance with health department and facility requirements. Suggests and assists with implementation of improvement opportunities to assist with cost control, maintain/improve efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.
• Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
• Provides feedback and assists with special events planning and set-up/clean-up.
