Job summary

New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, NH is seeking a full-time Food Service Worker to assist in serving and preparing nutritionally balanced meals according to a prescribed menu.

The role includes meal service setup, dishwashing, cleaning, stocking, and potential training of new staff; shifts include 5:30am-2:00pm and 10:30am-7:15pm with every other weekend and occasional holidays.

Qualifications

• 8th grade education required.
• Must possess clean personal health and sanitation habits.
• Preferred: experience as a waiter, waitress, dining room attendant or food service worker.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the preparation for, and the setup of, individual trays for food distribution.
• Sets-up for meal service, takes food orders, serves residents and cleans dining rooms.
• Operates dishwashing machine, food disposal, toaster and heat on demand unit.
• Assists with passing of trays, collecting trays and cleaning tables and chairs in dining areas.
• Stocks all work areas and unit kitchenettes.
• Cleans all floor areas in dining rooms, kitchen and dishwashing areas.
• May assist in cooking or food preparation as directed by kitchen staff.
• Participates in training new employees.

The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 1st shift vacancy for a Food Service Worker.

Proposed Schedule Includes

5:30am - 2:00pm and 10:30am - 7:15pm shifts

Every other weekend (additional $2.00/hour)

• Stocks all work areas and unit kitchenettes.
• Cleans all floor areas in dining rooms, kitchen and dishwashing areas.
• May be involved in cooking or otherwise preparing foods as directed by cook, chef, or dietary management team.
• Exercises responsibility for training new employees.
• Performs extra cleaning assignments as directed by shift leaders or dietary management team.
• May be involved in procedures for receiving, documenting, and tray preparation relating to both regular and special diets.
