SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Milford School District is seeking a dependable Food Service Worker II to support daily kitchen operations and meal service. This position assists with food preparation, service, sanitation, and record-keeping to ensure safe, efficient, and welcoming food service for students and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Prepare and serve hot and cold meals in accordance with established menus and food safety standards.
• Record student meal transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in food preparation, serving, and storage areas.
• Assist with inventory control, ordering, and minimizing food waste.
• Complete daily production records and properly store leftovers.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, and cafeteria areas.
• Identify food allergens and follow allergy-safe meal procedures.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and communicate effectively with the Kitchen Manager.
• Maintain confidentiality and positive customer service with students, staff, and families.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, including occasional catering support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Some knowledge of proper methods of serving food and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances.
• Some knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances.
