Our Client, a Cancer Center company, is looking for a Food Service Worker I for their Duarte, CA location.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of hot and cold foods and proper storage, following temperature and spoilage guidelines.
- Read recipes and product instructions.
- Estimate food requirements.
- Operate kitchen utensils for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, seasoning, and kneading foodstuffs.
- Conduct taste tests of products.
- Brew coffee and tea.
- Set up stations with food items and utensils, and serve from counters and steam tables, including using conveyor food-belts if applicable.
- Interact with customers in serving and dining areas, assisting with opening containers and cutting food as needed.
- Stock supplies, keep records, and restock beverage areas as required.
- Inspect workstations for compliance, clean and sanitize equipment and work areas, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain kitchen areas, including washing dishes, polishing silver, cleaning work surfaces, and floors.
- Participate in allergy and foodborne illness training, safety meetings, and hazard assessments.
- Assist on tray lines distributing food if required.
- Report accidents and injuries promptly and adhere to safety policies.
- Follow all company policies, including safety, environmental, infection control, and confidentiality standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of basic equipment operation and cash handling preferred.
- Professional presentation, honesty, and strong ethics.
- Positive attitude and respectful communication with colleagues and departments.
- Computer skills and ability to give clear directions.
- Basic food handling skills and willingness to learn.
- Maturity and high standards for work and appearance.
- Visual and mobility requirements, including ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
