Overview

Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services, including critical and emergency care such as pediatric emergency care at Children’s at Memorial. It provides diagnostic and treatment services, heart and vascular care, and is recognized as an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. It is also designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health and recently accredited by the American College of Radiology as a Lung Cancer Screening Center. Since 2008, it has been a Magnet-recognized organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94-bed hospital with all-private suites, was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and offers emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services, and critical care.

The Food & Nutrition Department provides high-quality nutrition services to patients, staff, and visitors, including vending machines and catering for meetings and special events.

Role Purpose

The role involves performing various food service functions, including setting up service areas, food portioning, serving, sanitation, operating cash registers, assembling patient trays, and assisting with customer requests. Food preparation may also be required at some locations.

Responsibilities

1. Provides professional and friendly customer service, adhering to food safety and portion guidelines.
2. Assembles meals according to the menu, diet order, and protocol.
3. Prepares work area and organizes supplies before, during, and after shifts.
4. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work stations and utensils.
5. Uses equipment and materials safely and properly.
