The Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing in Southampton, NY is seeking a Food Service Worker / Dietary Aide to join our dietary team. This full-time role offers 6:00 AM–2:00 PM and 12:00 PM–8:00 PM shifts with a pay rate of $21.38 per hour.

No healthcare experience is necessary — we are willing to train the right person. Previous food-service experience is a plus but not required, and we value dependable team members who take pride in providing excellent service.

Qualifications

• No healthcare experience required; training provided.
• Experience in restaurant, deli, cafeteria, or other food-service environments is a plus but not required.
• Ability to learn proper food handling and serving methods.
• Follow menus, portion guidelines, and dietary instructions.
• Knowledge of food sanitation and safety practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food carts and meal trays to resident dining areas.
• Assist with meal and tray service ensuring correct meals and portions.
• Work on the tray line to prepare resident trays.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, and serving procedures.
• Assist with dishwashing, pot washing, and kitchen cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dietary department and kitchen.
• Support daily kitchen and food-service duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to ensure timely meal service.

The Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing is seeking a reliable and motivated Food Service Worker / Dietary Aide to join our dietary team.

If you have experience working in a restaurant, deli, fast-food establishment, cafeteria, catering operation, grocery store, or other food-service environment, you may be a great fit for this opportunity. We are looking for dependable team members who take pride in providing excellent service and are willing to learn.

What You'll Do

• Deliver food carts and meal trays to resident dining areas and units.

• Assist with meal and tray service, ensuring residents receive the correct meals and portions.

• Work on the tray line, preparing and assembling resident meal trays according to established menus and portion requirements.

• Follow proper food handling, serving, and sanitation procedures.

• Assist with dishwashing, pot washing, and kitchen cleaning.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dietary department, kitchen, and equipment.

• Assist with daily kitchen and food-service duties as assigned.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and facility policies.

• Work cooperatively with dietary staff, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure timely meal service.

• Provide courteous, respectful, and friendly service to residents and staff.

What We're Looking For

• No healthcare or long-term care experience required — training is provided!

• Previous food service, dietary, kitchen, restaurant, deli, cafeteria, fast-food, catering, or healthcare experience is a plus, but not required.

• Ability and willingness to learn proper food handling and serving methods.

• Ability to follow menus, portion guidelines, and dietary instructions.

• Knowledge of food sanitation and safety practices is a plus.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Must demonstrate a professional, respectful, and compassionate approach when interacting with residents.
