Job summary

Hampton Manor in the United States is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, resident-centered meals. You will assist with meal service and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.

This role emphasizes food safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service as you support residents with meals, accommodate dietary plans, and help ensure a positive dining experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in a food service is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
  • Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
  • Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents, including meal setup and serving, ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
  • Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory and notifying shortages.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
  • Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents’ preferences during meals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
  • Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
  • Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
  • Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents' individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team
