Chartwells K12 - Food Service Worker/Cashier Positions

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Food Service Worker/Cashier positions at Shelbyville Central Schools, located at 803 St. Joseph Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time and part-time shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Additional details will be provided during the interview.

Requirements: Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.

Pay Rate: $13.50 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Performs cashiering duties and general food service work, maintaining sanitation standards in preparation, service, and dining areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits and vegetables, including washing, peeling, and measuring ingredients.
• Transport food, supplies, and utensils safely between stations.
• Store foods properly, following safety and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
• Follow recipes and standards for quality and portion control.
• Serve customers courteously and efficiently, resolving complaints as needed.
• Relay information to supervisors.
• Handle sales transactions accurately, including making change and accepting various payment methods.
• Issue receipts and process refunds following standard procedures.
• Manage cash drawer and change funds responsibly.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies, maintaining cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
