Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our Dietary Department and make a positive impact on the lives of our senior community members. We are committed to providing hot, nutritious meals to our consumers. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge of food safety and preparation to serve your community.

As a Food Service Worker 2, your responsibilities will include preparing ingredients, cooking food in bulk according to menu specifications, following recipes, preparing modified diets, ordering supplies, ensuring proper food requisition and preparation, and adhering to recipes alongside the Cook. You will also instruct volunteers, package bulk food, maintain food temperatures, operate kitchen equipment, clean dishes, uphold sanitation standards, participate in tray line activities, and perform related tasks as needed. Opportunities for training to enhance your skills will be available. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of modern food preparation, service, and sanitation methods. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time position
  • Work hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break
  • Telework: This position does not offer telework options
  • Work hours may include evenings, weekends, or holidays
  • Overnight or out-of-county travel for meetings or training may be required
  • Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases

Qualifications:

  • Experience in food preparation or service, or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training

Other Requirements:

  • Must pass a background check
  • Conditional employment offer requires drug screening
  • This position is subject to Child Protective Services Law; a satisfactory criminal history report, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance are required
