Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our Dietary Department. Make a difference in the lives of our senior community members by ensuring they receive hot, nutritious meals. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge of food safety and preparation to serve your community.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Food Service Worker 2, your responsibilities include preparing ingredients, cooking food in bulk according to menu specifications, following recipes, preparing modified diets, ordering supplies, and maintaining food safety standards. You will also instruct volunteers, package food, operate kitchen equipment, maintain sanitation, participate in tray line activities, and attend training sessions to improve your skills. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of modern food preparation, service, and sanitation methods. Help improve the quality of life for older adults with your skills!

Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Hours: 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Telework: This position does not offer telecommuting options
  • Work hours may include evenings, weekends, or holidays, and occasional overnight or out-of-county travel for meetings or training
  • Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications

  • Experience in food preparation or service, or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training

Other Requirements:

  • Meet PA residency requirements (see link for details)
  • Able to perform essential job functions

Legal Requirements:

  • Pass a background investigation
  • Pass a drug screening after a conditional offer
  • Submit satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police, Child Abuse, and FBI fingerprint clearances, due to Child Protective Services Law
