Job summary

Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, VA is seeking a Food Service Worker to assist in patient meals and related duties. Responsibilities include prepping food and beverages, dishwashing, cashiering and serving, while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation per guidelines.

This Flexi role (as needed) has the potential to become full-time, with growth paths toward Cook or Team Leader and competitive benefit offerings.

Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, VA is seeking to hire:

As a Food Service Worker with Sentara, you work in the different aspects of delivering food to the patients. This position’s primary duties include prepping food and beverages, dishwashing, cashier, and server. Cleans and sanitizes service areas and equipment; follows departmental operating procedures for recipes, menus, quality and safe food handling guidelines.

Must be at least 16 years of Age. Ability to operate basic food service equipment.

Familiar with basic sanitation processes, food preparation and handling techniques.

Be able to interact well with residents, participants and staff in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.

There are opportunities for growth for those interested, which would consist of titles like a Cook or Team Leader.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.02 - $26.54 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
