About This Position

Pay: $18.00/hour + $400 new hire bonus

This position is located inside a jail/correctional facility.

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members in the food service operation within a correctional environment. Responsibilities include preparing and serving various food items accurately and efficiently, following work instructions and menus, and utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and/or team members during food prep and service shifts
• Assist or instruct in food preparation according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper and sanitary storage of food
• Serve food according to schedules and policies
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment properly to prepare and serve food
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Adhere to facility uniform policies
• Manage waste and keep kitchen clean
• Ensure environment is ready for food prep and service
• Review portion sizes and utensil use for proper service
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for long periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; must be at least 18 years old
