About the position:

This position will be assigned to the CDC East and is not guaranteed a set number of hours but can be scheduled from 0 to 40 hours per week.

Duties

1. Sets up food service counters, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold foods.
2. Serves food cafeteria-style directly or tableside family-style by placing dishes of food on tables and replenishing as necessary.
3. Prepares tables and service stands by cleaning and setting up condiments, linens, flatware, and other articles.
4. Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving by washing, peeling, scraping, and dicing.
5. Handles food portions using scales and measuring devices according to standardized recipes.
6. Assembles, labels, and arranges recipe items for use by cooks.
7. Cleans kitchen and dining area equipment, washes dishes, and operates dishwashing machinery.
8. Maintains cleanliness of dining tables, floors, and disposes of waste properly.
9. Uses sanitation techniques when preparing formulas or tube feedings.
10. Assists with unloading supplies and moving heavy items.
11. Performs final checks of food items for temperature, completeness, and dietary restrictions, including allergy considerations.
12. Records and retrieves menu, recipe, and inventory data using computer systems.
13. Completes assigned work independently following instructions; recognizes work objectives and plans accordingly.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a background investigation.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting and physical activity.
• Must maintain current immunizations, including annual influenza vaccination, and be free of communicable diseases.
• Completion of Food Handlers Certification within the specified timeframe.
• Successful pre-employment checks, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
