Job Title: Food Service Worker at Turney Center Industrial Complex

Supervise inmates to ensure meal and food items are prepared according to production plans. Responsibilities include training workers, assigning and coordinating work, maintaining sanitation, and ensuring safety standards are met. Responsibilities may vary based on location and business needs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Adhere to preparation and production guidelines and review logs.
2. Supervise inmates in food prep and tray assembly.
3. Ensure timely meal service and compliance with guidelines.
4. Participate in meal preparation and serving.
5. Distribute recipes and train inmates on cooking procedures.
6. Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are met.
7. Review daily population counts.
8. Follow security policies, secure storage areas, and return equipment and keys.
9. Prepare work and sanitation schedules, and oversee adherence.
10. Assist with inventory, ordering, and storage of food items.
11. Participate in meal assembly and food handling following HACCP policies.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old.
• Preferred: 1+ year in food prep or related work.
• Preferred: supervisory experience.
• Experience with inmates is a plus.
• Ability to motivate and supervise in a correctional environment.
• Must obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain correctional security clearance.

Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended standing/walking, and wearing PPE.
