Wage Rate: $22.00/hour

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. The role involves preparing and serving a variety of food items in accordance with work instructions and menus, utilizing appropriate food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts.
• Assist or instruct in preparing quality foods according to menus and recipes.
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food.
• Serve food according to schedules and policies.
• Utilize kitchen utensils/equipment following recipes and nutritional guidelines.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Follow uniform policy and keep kitchen environment ready for food prep and service.
• Manage waste and ensure kitchen cleanliness.
• Review portions and utensils for service.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• This role involves physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in institutional food service or restaurants is a plus but not necessary.
