Food Service Worker

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare, assemble food, supplies, and equipment for daily food production according to standard recipes, production sheets, and menus. Apply knowledge of standard food handling procedures to ensure high-quality, nutritious food served attractively at specific times.
• Sanitize and clean the kitchen and other designated service areas. Maintain stock levels in storerooms and storage areas. Collect money, make change, and operate cash registers following standard money handling procedures. Access to third-party credit card information and transactional systems will be limited to one card at a time.
• Use standard production and patient spreadsheets to serve on the tray line in assigned positions, following specifications.
• Set up and maintain food service counters, steam tables, and side service stands, including serving areas with cups, silverware, and condiments.
• Monitor and record temperatures of food, freezers, and refrigerators. Report discrepancies to supervisors or maintenance.
• Follow portion control guidelines in all food service activities.
• Serve and dispense food adhering to food safety and portion control standards.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, including temperature documentation. Handle heavy cleaning duties and dispose of trash properly. Follow established procedures when using cleaning chemicals. Deliver and pick up food carts and late trays promptly. Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Must demonstrate sufficient literacy to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Preferred

• Experience in preparing, cooking, and serving food in institutional, restaurant, or hospital settings preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
