Job summary

Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to support meal preparation and service for patients, families, and staff in a hospital setting.

You will follow food safety protocols, stock using FIFO, and assist with cleaning. The role requires good communication and the Texas Food Handler certification within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Food Service experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, staff and customers.
• Must have the State of Texas Food Handlers certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides a high quality of service to patients, families, staff and customers in the preparation and service of meals.
• Utilizes correct food sanitation and food safety.
• Completes daily, weekend and holiday cleaning.
• Stocks food products using FIFO.
• Completes grocery storage following correct locations, FIFO, timeliness, removing dented or damaged product.
• Cleans equipment, ware washing, floors, walls per procedures.

Food Service Worker

Location: Dallas - Hospital

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30, alternating weekends

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provides a high quality of service to patients, families, staff and customers in the preparation and service of meals.
• Utilizes correct food sanitation and food safety.
• Completes daily, weekend and holiday cleaning.
• Stocks food products using FIFO.
• Completes grocery storage following correct locations, FIFO, timeliness, removing dented or damaged product.
• Completes cleaning of equipment, ware washing, floors, walls according to the correct procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Food Service experience preferably in a hospital setting preferred.
• Must have excellent communication skills and experience with customers and patients.
• Must have the State of Texas Food Handlers certification within 60 days of hire.

Working Environment | Working Conditions: Inside

Physical Demands: Heavy Physical Requirements: Lifting/Carrying, Pushing/Pulling, Stooping/Kneeling/Bending, and Repetitive Movement, Stooping/Kneeling/Bending, Climbing Lifting or carrying between 35-50 lbs.

Sensory/Communicative activities essential to the performance of this position: Hearing, Seeing, Feeling, Smelling, Speaking, and Tasting. This position will be exposed to Inside Environments, Bloodborne Pathogens, Loud Noise and Chemical Hazards.
