Job summary

District 220 is seeking a Food Service Worker to support the school cafeteria by preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals while upholding food safety and customer service standards.

Hours are 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday during the school year, with a pay rate of $17.25 per hour. Benefits include single coverage insurance, sick leave and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Effective communication with students and staff.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-40 pounds.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency.
• Food service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food items according to the daily menu.
• Set up and break down serving stations.
• Replenish food during meal service.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, counters, and equipment.
• Complete required HACCP documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow district food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Food Service Worker supports the daily operation of the school cafeteria by preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service.

• Prepare and serve food items according to the daily menu
• Set up and break down serving stations
• Replenish food during meal service
• Clean and sanitize work areas, counters, and equipment
• Complete required food safety documentation (HACCP) accurately and on time
• Follow all district food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-40 pounds
• Previous food service experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Hours

9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (during the school year)
