Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services is seeking a Food Service Worker II in Brenham, TX, to prepare, portion, distribute, and serve meals for residents, following federal, state, and HACCP guidelines.

The role involves working in the Central Kitchen and satellite sites, sanitizing equipment and work areas, and supporting occasional odd hours, weekends, holidays, and travel duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food preparation methods, storage standards, and sanitation regulations.
• Skill in operating and sanitizing food service equipment.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, stand, and walk on hard floors for extended periods.
• Ability to work in hot and/or cold conditions.
• Proficiency in speaking and reading English.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and to perform basic math related to cooking/preparation.
• Valid Texas driver’s license preferred; or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
