Job summary

Bethany Children’s Health Center in Bethany, Oklahoma is hiring an entry-level Food Service Worker I to support patient nourishment. You will prepare meals, assemble patient trays, serve meals and ensure safe food handling under supervision.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 5:00am–1:30pm, and emphasizes teamwork with the Nutrition Services team to meet the health needs of staff and patients while following HACCP guidelines.

Qualifications

The Food Service Worker provides a variety of basic kitchen and cafeteria duties to support nutritional services. This position prepares meals, cooks meals, serves food, prepares patient trays and ensures safe food handling practices under the supervision of a team leader. The Food Service Worker I provides the nourishment needed by staff, patients and visitors to meet the physical, emotional and biological needs to support health and well-being.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 5:00am - 1:30pm

Qualification

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: Previous related experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Working under the direct supervision of the Team Leader, prepares and delivers food trays to hospital patients and staff, performing any combination of following duties within the principals of safe food handling as per HACCP guidelines. May read production orders, read and follow recipes, determine item to place on tray, deliver of meals, assembly of snacks and nourishments, pouring and delivering of formula, collecting and washing dishes and trays, cleaning and sanitation, and record keeping.35%
• Understands and abides by state and local safe food handling regulations. Practices all HACCP guidelines.30%
• Works as a cohesive team member; communicates clearly and openly with all member of the nutrition services team and healthcare professionals to ensure the needs of the patients are met in a manner consistent with The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital’s mission, vision, values and standards.30%
