SAFH-Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital in Auburn, CA is seeking a Per Diem/Casual Food Service Worker to support meal preparation, serving, and sanitation across dining areas. You will handle basic math for portions, read and follow instructions, and work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts.

Ideal candidates have entry-level experience, English proficiency, and customer service mindset. Union presence is noted; this is a non-exempt role with flexible weekend requirements and variable days.

SAFH-Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital

Position Overview:

Performs food preparation and storage, serving of meals and snacks, cleaning and storing of dishes, utensils, pots, and general department sanitation. May be assigned to tray line, cafeteria, dish room, host/hostess, or catering or may be assigned to relieve in other areas. Recording of data is a part of this position. Food products require very simple preparation. Performs a wide variety of physical & manual tasks related to the preparation and serving of food as well as clean up of any and all tools and work areas.

EDUCATION

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

Entry-level position.

Previous food service experience desired.

SLH: Experience in cashiering and sanitation is also desired, but not required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Individual exceptions will be made if the applicant has had a work history demonstrating the ability to perform in a similar position.

Must be able to read, write and speak English as well as understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions.

Must have sufficient mathematical ability to perform basic measurement and portioning activities including increasing and decreasing recipes.

Ability to meet established deadlines and multi-task in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.

Pay Range is $25.00 to $28.26 / hour

The posted pay range is based on the position's primary work location. Candidates who reside and work outside of that location may be subject to a different pay range based on their work location. Candidate starting salaries consider multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
