Job summary

Mercy in St. Louis seeks a supervising food service professional to oversee routine operations when leadership is unavailable and direct team efforts to meet scheduling and project goals.

You will participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure tasks across positions are completed as planned. Qualifications include the ability to follow written directions and interpret menus, plus hospital food service experience preferred.

Position Details:

Certifications: Jefferson: Food Handlers within 90 days of hire

St. Louis/South: Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire

Springfield: Food Handlers within 90 days of hire

Washington: Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire

Other: Must be able to follow written directions and interpret selected menus. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and lead others to accomplish objectives set by area supervisor without direct supervision of work shift. The physical demands described here are representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job. Most physical demands are below, plus:
Minimal: kneeling or crouching, lifting up to 40 lbs, carrying of <35 lbs (2-handed)
Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Experience: 90 days' experience in hospital food service.
