Job summary

California Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero is seeking a Food Service Technician I (Safety) to support Nutrition Services. The role involves assisting in food preparation and distribution, while following nutrition safety standards and HACCP guidelines within a secure hospital environment.

You will work under supervision to ensure timely meals and maintain a clean, safe work area at the Atascadero facility.

Qualifications

• Eligibility includes reachable on a state certification list, transfer eligibility, or reinstatement eligibility.
• New hires start at minimum salary for the classification or alternate range when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist and participate in the preparation and distribution of food and beverages.
• Assist with the production and distribution of food while adhering to HACCP and infection control requirements.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Maintain order, cleanliness, and sanitation in assigned area.
• Adhere to safety, security, emergency response, and rights of patients.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and other miscellaneous responsibilities.
