Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Food Service Worker I to perform non-cooking tasks in a hospital dining environment. Responsibilities include dishwashing, cold prep, salad production, serving, cashier duties, tray passing, cart loading, and general cleaning. High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year in a service setting preferred.

The Food Service Worker I (FSW-I) does all the functions that are not cooking related, i.e., washing dishes, cold prep, salad production, serving, cashier, tray passing, loading carts, general cleaning and receiving.

Position Details

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a service-related environment/industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Maintains relationship with patients and customers to attain quality satisfaction of food.
• Is courteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all patients, guests, team members, and hospital personnel.
• Ability to work in direct contact with a variety of foods.
• Able to meet schedule requirements (attendance and punctuality).
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
