Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Food Service Worker to assist with food preparation, portioning, and serving. You will learn on the job, support daily station setup, and contribute to a positive, efficient dining experience for our customers.

Responsibilities include cooking to recipes, maintaining portions, logging temperatures, ensuring cleanliness, and assisting with events. Strong teamwork, safety awareness, and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Serve Safe Certification is preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Food service experience is preferred.
• Requires frequent lifting and transporting hot food items.
• Ability to work in a kitchen with heated equipment, steam, loud noise, chemicals and other hazards.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of and assist in preparation of food items for the day and dating products.
• Coordinate and assist in setting up and breaking down stations designated by the manager.
• Cook and prepare foods according to recipes and directions.
• Ensure accurate portions when preparing and serving items on the line.
• Maintain daily temperature logs.
• Take samples of all food items on the line prior to serving customers.
• Alert management and pull items not meeting quality expectations.
• Complete opening and closing station checklists.
• Greet customers as they approach and leave the serving line.
• Ask customers about the quality of service and handle complaints with a positive attitude.
• Maintain a clean work station (floors, areas, equipment, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks).
• Ensure utensils and work areas are cleaned and sanitized.
• Dispose of waste from the service line properly.
• Move supplies between storage and work areas by hand or cart.
• Assist with daily safety observations and report hazards.
• Cross-train in areas as needed.
• Assist in concessions, catering, and special events as required.
• Perform tasks as requested by management.
• Lead and coordinate team on the line to ensure timely service; request support for sanitation as needed.
