Job Summary
As a Food Supervisor, you will coordinate and supervise staff according to food safety standards. Your duties include training, scheduling, quality control and supporting management. This is a part‑time position with shifts of 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory to ensure all necessary ingredients are stocked.
- Provide training to new staff to facilitate quick acclimation.
- Streamline kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times.
- Verify that staff is maintaining sanitation levels.
- Understand and follow policies and procedures.
- Assign responsibility for specific work or functional activities.
- Perform day‑to‑day assignments in addition to oversight duties.
- Report accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Attend training programs and participate in regular safety meetings, trainings and hazard assessments.
- Attend allergy and foodborne illness training.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma.

- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and lift up to 40–50 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, nights, weekends and some holidays.
