Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Operations Director, the Food Services Supervisor will plan, organize, and manage the daily operation of the Food Services Department. This role involves meal service, overseeing kitchen operations, and collaborating with contracted food service providers to ensure dietary standards and quality are met. The supervisor must adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations to ensure safe, quality food services daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain policies for food procurement, preparation, and service, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage food service expenses, maintain expenditure records, and prepare necessary documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian to meet dietary care plans, physician orders, and nutritional requirements, including planning compliant monthly menus.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including equipment readiness, inventory, cleanliness, and safety logs.
  • Prepare and serve meals that meet nutritional standards, are appetizing, and adhere to portion and diet guidelines.
  • Monitor participant meal intake and compliance with dietary and therapeutic dining plans.
  • Supervise and evaluate kitchen staff, ensuring proper training and Serv-Safe certification.
  • Manage food and equipment ordering, tracking, and invoicing.
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments, respecting privacy and confidentiality.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support BoldAge’s QI programs.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Experience and Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Serve Safe Certification.
  • At least two years of experience in dietary services, including meal planning and preparation.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with the elderly population; training will be provided if not present.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and adequate auto insurance.
  • Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations prior to direct participant contact.
