Job summary

Eckerd Connects in Albany, GA is hiring a Food Service Worker to support the Turner Job Corps program. The role involves preparing and serving meals, maintaining a clean kitchen and dining environment, and assisting cooks with daily operations.

It is an hourly, non-exempt position reporting to the Food Service Supervisor. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3–6 months of food preparation experience, and must obtain ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three to six months food preparation training and related food service work experience preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain ServSafe food safety certification.
• Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good housekeeping in kitchen and dining areas and assist in serving and preparation of food.
• Assist the cook with food preparation, estimating student numbers, and stockroom monitoring.
• Assist in serving food and prep beverages or salads as needed.
• Clean dining and service areas, tables, and kitchen equipment; ensure floor is clean and safe.
• Operate dish-washing equipment to sanitize dishes and utensils.
• Inspect kitchen equipment and maintain a sanitary work area.
• Replenish napkin dispensers, silverware racks, and condiments.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

3–6 months food preparation training and related food service work experience

ServSafe food safety certification

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Drug screen per policy
