Job summary

Eckerd Connects at Turner Job Corps in Albany, GA is seeking a Cook I to prepare and plan meals for the center, coordinating daily dining operations and ensuring safe and sanitary service. This full-time role includes on-call shifts and requires adherence to program standards.

Responsibilities include inventory control, timely meal service, and reporting. A high school diploma and food handling experience are preferred, with ServSafe certification and a valid driver's license desired.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years' food preparation training and related work experience preferred.
• ServSafe food safety certification required or obtainable.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Cook I is responsible for preparing center meals, establishing menu, and determining quantities of food needed.
• Plans and coordinates procedures necessary for day-to-day operations of center dining facility.
• Efficient and timely arrangement, servicing, and clean-up of meals.
• Cook I maintains complete inventory file on food and equipment, ensures minimum waste through efficient storage, inventory, and food utilization.
• Maintains strict safety and sanitation codes and procedures.
• Submits weekly activity and other reports as assigned.
