Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Food Service Worker II to join the Food Service team at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center. The role involves daily food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining sanitary kitchen and dining areas in a state facility.

The position requires basic experience in food service, ability to lift 25 pounds, and compliance with safety and HACCP guidelines. Weekend and holiday work may be required; telework is not applicable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food preparation methods and sanitation regulations.
• Skill in operation and sanitizing food service equipment.
• Ability to prepare and serve food, clean dining and preparation areas, and maintain records.
• Ability to speak and read English and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and portioning of food for special diets following procedures.
• Distribute food in a safe and sanitary manner according to service policies.
• Assist in serving food and maintain sanitation of kitchen and prep areas.
• Train or assist in training new food service employees as needed.
